Making a jacket that does one thing well is pretty easy. Making a jacket that does one thing perfectly is pretty hard. And making a jacket does everything exceptionally is next to impossible. Well, you could say that they specialize in the impossible, because the new Deflect Reflect Hybrid Jacket flawlessly performs a bevy of duties, from protection to visibility.
Starting with protection, it's made from Specialized's wind- and water-resistant Deflect material. This fabric is extremely lightweight and breathable, so you won't ever experience that rainforest feeling in high humidity conditions. But if things do start to heat up while you're throwing down the watts, they've included two front vents, a large back vent, and laser perforated exhaust points throughout the jacket. To keep water out, the jacket also features adjustable wrist seals, a zipper garage at the collar, a drop tail to deflect road-spray, and an adjustable drawcord hem.
Specialized also designed this jacket to be extremely versatile, and to complement this, the sleeves are made to be completely removable. This way, you're able to wear it as a jacket when it's pouring, and then zip off the sleeves and stow them away after you catch a break in the weather.
Now, to tackle the "reflect" portion of the title, this jacket features a Schoeller fabric with 3M reflective technology that takes millions of microscopic glass beads and permanently seals them to the fabric structure. As you can imagine, this feature will increase your visibility to others on the road when it encounters light. And better yet, this benefit will not wash out over time.

In the shoulder seasons, you'll find that conditions are far from ideal, but not so intense that you'll form icicles on your beard whiskers. In these times of year, you'll find a solid minimalist jacket, like our Element 1.0 Jacket, will be the ideal piece for your ride.
The jacket is made from our Element Soft Shell material, which is both wind- and water-resistant, as well insulating. And as the 1.0 iteration of this jacket, this fabric is used throughout in order to provide coverage and protection from the elements where it's needed most. The fabric is also extremely lightweight and malleable, so you'll experience the perfect amount of stretch in all of the right places throughout the motions of cycling. Its use equates to a lightweight, minimal barrier between you and the elements, which is perfect for fair conditions or any fall/winter riding at a hard pace.
The Element 1.0 also includes additional weather-fighting properties, like a pop collar that prevents unwanted chills and moisture from entering the jacket via the neck opening. And lastly, three rear expansion pockets and one zippered security pocket at the back handle storage duties.
- Element Soft Shell knit fabric is used throughout, providing exceptional levels of insulation and breathability, while also being quite adept at resisting both wind and water.
- Three standard back pockets and zippered back security pocket provide ample room for storing your essentials.
- Pop collar seals out the cold and adds a little extra protection from the elements.
- Reflective elements increase your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.
- DeflectUV 50+ protects the skin against harmful UV rays.
- Form Fit provides a second-skin feel without inhibiting movement or flexibility.

There's cold and then there's freezing cold. And while finding the perfect jacket at either end of the spectrum is pretty easy, the temperature range in between is where you'll spend the majority of your time on the road. Of course, this makes finding the perfect jacket pretty tough, that is until you pickup our Men's Element Jacket.
The jacket is made from one of the most venerable materials in the business, three-layer softshell, and it's placed to provide full coverage and protection. As its name suggests, this material is extremely wind- and water-resistant. But what its name doesn't tell you is that it's also highly efficient at wicking moisture away from the skin, while also remaining soft against the skin and quite breathable. This fabric also possesses the perfect amount of stretch, which complements the articulated cycling cut of the jacket. Essentially, this all adds up to a complete freedom of movement throughout the motions of cycling, which equates to the elimination of any rubbing, pinching, or chafing.
The Element Jacket also includes other weather-fighting properties, like an offset front zipper that prevents drafts and keeps the zipper off of your chin. There are also wrist seals that prevent air and water from infiltrating the jacket via the sleeve openings, and a pop collar that performs similar duties at the neck opening.
- Exclusive three-layer softshell fabric features a four-way stretch that provides maximum mobility, articulation, and comfort.
- Three external storage pockets are located on the back, as well as one zippered secure pocket.
- Reflective details increase your visibility to motorists and fellow trail users in low-light conditions.

Emergency jackets can be notoriously wimpy, only possessing enough power to slightly deter the elements. Well, with the arrival of Specialized's exceptionally versatile Women's Deflect Hybrid Jacket, those days are over. This jacket is constructed from their wind- and water-resistant Deflect material. The update to our original Reflect Deflect jacket is a more versatile piece for adverse weather riding. 2-layer fabrics breath better than 3-layer fabrics, but they can feel clammy against your skin. By fusing brushed tricot dots onto the waterproof, breathable membrane, we raise the membrane off your skin, making it more comfortable and creating microchannels to allow air flow, aiding in breathability. We call the fabric innovation 2.75 layer and we give it our H2O treatment of taped seams and YKK Water Guard ZIppers. The geometric reflective pattern is composed of millions of microscopic glass beads that reflect light back to the source, making you visible from 360°. Dark and stormy nights don't have to be the start of horror movies anymore.
- Deflect 2.75-layer is a woven fabric that's wind-resistant, water-resistant, and highly breathable in order to maintain an effective barrier between you and elements, while micro-fleece dots raise the fabric off the body to create channels for airflow.

This jacket is exactly what we think the perfect winter jacket should be. We started with a list of things we didn't like about the current jackets and set out to solve them—and in the process make our best jacket ever.
The first issue to resolve related to moisture management. Even the best of the currently available fabrics provide a good level of breathability but can't keep up with the sweat generated during high-intensity riding. So we invented a double-layer construction that allows you to open an outer wind-protection layer while keeping the insulation layer closed and thereby allowing airflow inside the jacket to evacuate moisture while avoiding direct contact with the skin. On a long climb, we'll completely open the outer layer to allow moisture to escape, and when we start the descent we close the outer layer and are completely dry inside. It works so well that sometimes it feels like magic. New for this year is a softer, warmer 3D insulation-layer fabric that provides better warmth, moisture management, and fit.
Next, we focused on the openings: neck, waist, and, most of all, wrists. The neck comes up high and is shaped to move with you, whether you're standing or in an aero position being a January hero and attacking your mates. For the waist, we've created a stretch layer with a silicone bead that lies flat and completely seals out wind without bunching or riding up. New for this year is a brand-new double-layer wrist opening with an inner layer to go under your glove that seals tight to your wrist, and an outer layer that goes over your glove so that any rain will roll down the outside of the glove and not end up inside.
Of course, the ultimate jacket will also hold up well in wet conditions, so we used GORE-TEX INFINIUM WINDSTOPPER fabric along with waterproof seam taping on critical seams around the shoulder. Other seams are hidden out of direct water flow, and the water-repellent treatment on the fabric is sufficient to prevent most moisture from entering. We call it "essentially waterproof," using our own subjective judgment to find a balance between water protection, breathability, and comfort. It doesn't mean that no drop will ever come in, but we do longish rides in real rain and stay completely dry.
All these features make it a favorite of the Team Ineos riders, and the most versatile performance jacket for cold-weather training we've ever created.
- Rain or Shine engineering makes this our best jacket ever for dry conditions while also providing significant rain protection
- GORE-TEX INFINIUM WINDSTOPPER 150 fabric for wind protection with high breathability and effective rain protection
- Reduced seaming with seam sealing on shoulders reduces chances for water to enter through stitching
- Double-layer Alpha construction separates the insulating layer from the wind/water barrier to let you better regulate ventilation
- Water-resistant YKK Vislon zipper slides easily for better regulation of airflow
- Raw-edge waist with silicone gripper lies flat and seals out wind
- Double-layer cuff integrates with a glove to prevent cold wind or water from entering at wrist
- Stretch fabrics with advanced patterning make for an excellent close-to-body fit that still accommodates a wide range of body types
- Back ventilation
- 3 rear pockets with reflective laser-cut drain holes
- Zippered secure side pocket for valuables

As summer turns to autumn we still have a few months of amazing riding, but when we have to start dressing warmer we miss the freedom of wearing just a jersey. That's why we made this jacket. We used the lightest, stretchiest fabrics we have to make a jacket that cuts out most of the wind, remains highly breathable, provides remarkably high levels of water protection, and just basically disappears so you don't really notice it.
This is a performance piece, so we've kept it focused on the task at hand. There's nothing superfluous on it unless you consider the big reflective panel on the back to be unnecessary. We don't. We've given it a close-to-body fit so there's no fabric flapping in the wind, which also helps keep the jacket warmer. The pockets are generous and easily reachable, the zip slides easily, and the logo is discreet.
- Polartec NeoShell 4-way-stretch fabric on front and upper sleeves is windproof, waterproof and highly breathable
- Nano Flex Light woven fabric on the back is highly breathable while blocking wind and splashes from light rain or wet roads
- Close-to-body cut remains very comfortable thanks to 4-way stretch of all fabrics
- YKK Vislon zipper is easy sliding for quick ventilation control
- 3 rear pockets
- Large reflective panel at lower back

If you're looking for just one jacket to do it all, start here.
We used our lightest GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER three-layer stretch fabric, which makes it great for milder conditions, and the stretch gives it a great fit. It's the same outer fabric as we use for our Alpha RoS 2 Jacket, called "The benchmark in how the best winter jackets should perform" by Cyclingnews.com, but the Go Jacket forgoes the Alpha's integrated liner so you can decide how much insulation you need. Add a Flanders Warm base layer and thermal jersey to extend the comfort range to subfreezing temperatures.
But the fabric is only the start. We've tailored the fit to be close to body but not too close. It gives a good drape to the jacket, rounded out by details like the no-sew finishing to the hem and the zippered colored chest pocket. The hidden internal cuffs are a nice comfort touch, and you'll appreciate how they eliminate drafts from the wrist. There are three pockets on the back, with a large reflective strip stretching across the entire bottom of the pockets for nighttime visibility.
Where does this jacket fit in our line? It's similar in warmth to the Perfetto RoS Long Sleeve, but it has a more tailored and elegant look, with a slightly more relaxed fit, and it's not quite as protective in wet weather.
- Full soft-shell construction with GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER 150 keeps cold wind out while offering exceptional breathability
- Excellent stretch with a neutral fit for extra comfort
- Internal stretch wrist closure for perfect glove interface
- Zippered chest pocket
- YKK Vislon zipper with rubberized zipper pull
- No-sew waist construction for clean, technical look
- 3 rear pockets
- Large reflective strip across pockets for low-light visibility

IF YOU HAD JUST ONE JACKET
The Perfetto RoS is the one jacket that does everything well. We initially designed it as a cool-weather training and extreme-weather race piece for our pro riders, but in reality, it excels in many conditions thanks to its full wind protection, great fit through stretchy fabrics, and best-in-class breathability.
Winter 2019 represents the biggest performance upgrade in the four generations of this jacket. RoS in the name signifies Rain or Shine. The emphasis should be on dry-weather comfort, which is where this jacket really excels, but then you get near waterproof protection if you do get caught in the rain. We worked with Gore to develop two new Castelli exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM WINDSTOPPER fabrics. We use a light fleece-lined water-resistant version on the forward-facing surfaces and a lighter, stretchier fabric on the back that maintains the breathability of the previous fabric while improving water repellency at the same time.
The Perfetto RoS is that ideal weight: no built-in insulation so you can layer over a light base layer for moderate conditions. Or you can add a thermal jersey underneath and take it to very cold conditions. You decide.
The Perfetto family features are all there: excellent fit, easy-sliding YKK zipper, long tail to protect from wheel-spray, reflective panel on the back, and discreet styling that belies the jacket's racing pedigree.
This is the one jacket that belongs in every cyclist's quiver.

This is a modern interpretation of the wind shell jacket, the one you keep in your pocket for a long descent or put on for the first hour of the ride until the day warms up. That jacket used to be a simple affair — a nylon shell — but the lack of stretch meant that it had to be cut on the generous side to fit all body shapes, both on and off the bike.
We've completely reimagined what the shell jacket should be and how it's constructed. We've added panels on the sides and the sleeves in a very high-stretch yet tightly knit fabric that allows us to give the jacket a modern, close-to-body fit for aero gains on any terrain, and it actually keeps more heat in than a jacket that's flapping about. We've kept it very compact so that it can pack away into minimal space in a jersey pocket.
The stretch panels are treated for water repellency, which will help in a light mist, but this is not meant to be a true rain jacket.
- Coated ripstop nylon front and back and front of sleeves to keep wind off
- Tightly knit stretch panels on sides and sleeves allow for perfect fit
- High collar to keep drafts out
- Reflective details on chest and lower back for low-light visibility

We've completely re-engineered our entry-level vest. A new coated ripstop fabric keeps the wind off the front and spray off the back, while the tightly knit side panels allow the vest to stretch to fit a wide range of shapes while keeping a close-to-body fit that eliminates fabric flapping in the wind. The collar is cut high and the back long for extra protection and the color blocking of the stretch panels and the reflective details on the chest and tail give it an elegant design touch.
- Coated ripstop nylon front and back to keep wind off
- Tightly knit stretch panels on sides for perfect fit and ventilation
- High collar to keep drafts out
